Carlisle PAT Testing Course Overview

Our PAT testing training course is delivered by experienced trainers and gives you everything you need to start PAT testing. More about our course.

It doesn't matter what you want to do with your PAT certification. You could start up your own business, get a job in the industry or test the appliances in your workplace.

All people must be deemed to be "competent" before they can carry out PAT testing. On our Carlisle PAT testing course you will be given the training and certification you require to be classified as competent to PAT test.

We offer a mix of training throughout the day including a practical session in which you will be taught to test real world appliances with a PAT tester. All the equipment you need is provided for the course, but you can bring your own if you have one.

PAT Certification and the exam

To successfully pass the course and gain your Certificate of Competence, you need to pass the 20 question open book exam. Our tutors will ensure that you fully understand the subject matter before you take the exam and there will be plenty of time for you to ask questions first.

Course Duration and Suitability

The PAT course in Carlisle is ideally suited to anyone wanting a new career, to increase skills or to maintain workplace appliances. There are no requirements for this course; you do not need an electrical background or any previous experience. The course lasts for one full day from 9am to 4pm.

Reading Material

There are no formal reading requirements prior to this course but we do highly recommend that everyone purchases a copy of the IEE Code of Practice for reference purposes. A copy of the Code of Practice can be purchased from us.
