This is done because the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 state that:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cAs may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This means that employers and those responsible for the work environment are required to maintain appliances to prevent dangers.<\/p>\n<p>In order to fulfil this legal requirement, PAT testing is carried out and records are kept of maintenance and tests throughout the life of the appliance.<\/p>\n<p>These results are kept to ensure that the equipment condition is watched, the effectiveness of maintenance policies can be assessed and to ensure that effective systems are in place.<\/p>\n<p>A trained and qualified PAT Technician will carry out this procedure for businesses to ensure they continue to stay within the regulations.<\/p>\n<p>We have courses throughout the UK to enable you to become qualified and help businesses stay within these legal requirements.
